WCSA Championships
Our summer long course season wrapped up this past Saturday night at the Shelby City Park with the WCSA Championships. Our team didn't take the championship trophy this year but its only a matter of time before we do. And even though we had the best theme and outfits for the parade (again) we came in second for the team spirit award by one vote. (Everybody at the meet knows who was dressed the best. Pictures will be on the SAC Photo page to prove that.) And I was pleasantly surprised that my outfit reminded 3 moms of former boyfriends. (if you saw my outfit, you wouldn't describe it as a good thing.) But despite not winning the trophies it was still one of the funnest meets of the year.
Our team looked great out of the pool and in the pool. Our team was led by 3 high point winners: Alexandra Martelle (13-14 Girls) and a tie between Garrett Simpson and Austin Toney (13-14 Boys). We had a lot of our younger swimmers get some great experience with prelims and finals: Rileigh Hazen, Lexie Handlin, Jeremy Henkel, Jonathan Henkel, Goutam Gadiraju, Olivia Moss, Katie Tucker, and Brett Williams.
The following swimmers swam great and had best times in several events: Catherine Bowen, Abbey Bragg, Parker Campbell, Lane Evans, Goutam Gadiraju, Rileigh Hazen, Shea Hopper, Spencer Hopper, Ann Huston, Davis Kennedy, Madelyn Martelle, Evan Morse, Olivia Moss, Brett Williams, Marissa Wright.
I would like to thank all of our parents who made it another great meet. It was great team effort and other teams took notice and were very appreciative for us hosting a quality and fun meet. Thanks again to everybody for a great summer at the city park pool.
If I don't see you, I hope you and your family enjoy the upcoming break.
