Pirates Gold Results
Congratulations to everybody who competed at the Pirate's Gold meet this past Saturday. We had a lot of great swims considering the swimmers were swimming in a hot tub. We also had a couple of swimmers swimming in their first USA Swim meet: Emily Alvino, Bobby Pruitt and Millie Ramsey. You guys were awesome!
We also had a number of swimmers who swam best times in every event, congratulations to: Emily Beaver, Lane Evans, Kassidy Hamrick, Alexandra Handlin, and Madelyn Martelle. Great job guys!
BRSL Championships
The Pirate's Gold Invitational was a great tune up for our newest swimmers in preparation for the Blue Ridge Swim League Championships. The BRSL Championships brings together all of the teams that we compete against in the Saturday morning quad meets for one weekend of racing. It's one of the funnest meets all year, it's at a great facility (MCAC in downtown Charlotte), and it's our last short course meet of the season. When we return from Spring Break, we will begin the summer season where all of the meets are long course, swum in 50 meter, Olympic size pools.
BRSL Champs is a great meet for our whole team. From the newest swimmers who just competed in their first meet last weekend, to our older swimmers who get to race in a prelims/finals format, this meet is geared for teams just like ours and I strongly encourage all of our swimmers to attend. This is one of the few meets all year where we compete as a team and since we're not the biggest team in the meet, we need EVERYONE to attend. We need to fill every relay for each age group and we need everyone there cheering and encouraging each other. Your swimmer will definitely enjoy the meet and these meets work as a great motivator for the future.
The format has swimmers 13 & overs swimming in the morning, with the top 16 swimming in finals at night. The 12 & unders will swim in the afternoons on each day. Attached is the meet information.
If your swimmer is not signed up for this meet, or if you are unsure, please contact your coach ASAP to make sure you are signed up for the meet. Its definitely a lot of fun and I would love to see our entire team at the meet. Its going to be awesome!
